While it is still officially spring, it sure feels like summer and the beautiful weather means that so many outdoor events will be happening across the city. We recently shared an interview with the Halal Food Festival and that got us looking into what else might be happening around Toronto in the coming months. Here’s our roundup of some of the best:

The Stop Night Market – this is one of the most fun fundraisers of the year, incredible food, delicious drinks and beautiful booths created by a team of volunteer artists. The money you spend goes to the Stop’s anti-hunger and anti-poverty programming, so while you’re having a blast at the night market you are also supporting some very important charitable work.

Taste of Toronto – From June 2-5th the grounds of Fort York will be transformed into a foodie’s paradise for the second year in a row. Enjoy food from top chefs like Jonathan Waxman, Stuart Cameron, Victor Barry, Cory Vitiello and more. Take part in interactive wine tastings and cooking classes led by industry superstars.

WayHome – is launching just outside of the city this year at Burl’s Creek. This is your best bet for a camping weekend/music festival where you can set up your tent and weave together a daisy chain before heading to the main stage to hear Neil Young, St. Vincent, the Sheepdogs, Sloan, Django Django, and many more perform. WayHome has put a lot of thought into not just the music but the food programming as well. Expect awesome eats from the Drake Properties.

Harborfront Centre – you’d do well to spend the whole summer hanging out at Harborfront, they’ve got the lock on fun festivals. Two favourites are the Hot & Spicy Festival with it’s Hot Spot Scavenger Hunt and endless supply of delicious spicy delights, and the Ashkenav Festival featuring authentic kosher food from Free Times Cafe and Burgys.

What are some Toronto festivals and events that you’re looking forward to? Share with us in the comments. After the winter this city has had we need every excuse we can find to get out in the sun as much as possible this summer!
