We live in a very big city filled with restaurants, clubs and after-hours gin joints, making it almost impossible to decide what to do on the last night of 2010. Well, since we’re all about food on this site we’ve decided to highlight some of the amazing New Year’s Menus happening around the city this weekend. Since this is last minute, most of these places only have the first seating open.
Parts & Labour Chef Matty Matheson will be doing a family style dinner for $100 at 6:30 pm. Each table will share platters of oysters, bottles of Veuve, 1 whole lobster per person and, in the words of the chef, “Enough prime rib and Yorkshire pudding to make your butt look even more amazing in your dress.”
Over at Marben, Chef Carl Heinrich will be offering a menu at 6pm featuring Fenwood Farms chicken, Shalom Farms venison, oysters & caviar. It’s available for $85 or $120 with wine pairings.
Chef Jamie Kennedy is making New Year’s Eve at his Gilead Cafe the last night for his Fall Bistro menu. Come grab a final taste of beer-braised beef with caramelized onion sauce or apple fritters with blackberry and vanilla. They aren’t doing specific seatings so you can just call to make a reservation. Foie gras ravioli, stracciatella with fresh truffles and roast Pacific black cod are all on Chef Rocco Agostino’s 6-course menu at Enoteca Sociale.
For fine Mexican dining, head to Frida Restaurant where they will be doing a $55 prix fixe, $80 with wine and tequila pairings.
And if you just feel like staying home and cracking a few oysters, Oyster Boy is open today until 6pm for takeout.
