The Green Living Show is back and we teamed up with Local Food Plus to do a Good Eats Market as part of the show. You can purchase heirloom produce, organic sprouts, Holland Marsh carrots, even Lake Erie popcorn! It all begins this Friday at 10am and goes through the weekend to end on Sunday at 6pm.
Make sure you take in some of the great panelists on the Cooking Stage. You can join a beer and cheese tasting with Mill Street founder Steve Abrams, learn about biodynamic wines with Southbrook winery, or watch a pasta carbonara demo with Chef Rodney Bowers of The Gabardine.
The incredible Year of the Forests Display is not to be missed, especially considering that 2011 is the International Year of the Forest.
Another highlight is Farm Fresh Fair, that will partner local chefs with producers and attendees can sample the bite-sized delights they come up with. Chefs from restaurants as diverse as Splendido, Ceili Cottage, and the Fairmont Royal York will be on hand to make magic with ingredients from Monforte Dairy, Ninutik Maple Syrup and Cherry Lane, just 3 of over 25 producers participating.
Matt DeMille, sous chef at Parts & Labour, is paired with Purdy’s Fish Market, this is his first time participating in the Green Living Show. “We’ll be making miniature fishcakes with homemade mustard pickles for people to try.” he says, “I’m excited to see what other chefs in the city will be making.”
With 33 chefs taking part, you may need to come back to the show an extra day just to taste it all!
Tickets are only $12 and kids get in for free!
