Savour Stratford starts this weekend, one of the largest and most enjoyable food festivals in Ontario, this year they have some great celebrity guests lined up including David Rocco, Connie DeSousa and Chicago’s Steve Dolinsky.
They have a line up of really unique tastings, including Bacon and Eggs with Chef Mike Booth where he will compare different varieties of eggs and show how cure your own bacon. Kristin Donovan from Hooked will lead a Sake and Sashimi tasting, while Jamie Drummond is doing a Fortified Wine tasting featuring Sherry, Port and Madeira. There will also be tastings focused on Craft Beer, Whisky and Bourbon and a Blind Wine Tasting conducted by Chateau de Charmes.
The main events include BBQ, Blues & Brews on Saturday night featuring Hog Tails BBQ, craft beer and music by Dry County and Ginger St. James. Sunday morning head to the Breakfast of Champions where Top Chefs Carl Heinrich and Connie deSousa will take part in a QuickFire competititon hosted by Steve Dolinsky and Paul Finkelstein. The highlight of the festival takes place on Sunday, the Savour Stratford Tasting is a tented garden party in Stratford Market Square where thirty top local chefs will pair with Perth county producers to create incredible dishes for you to sample all accompanied by the best wine, beer and cider this province has to offer.
