Jamie Oliver is in town, in fact he just finished up a tour of the STOP this afternoon, so we thought it fitting to do a little point version love letter to him today.
Reasons to love Jamie Oliver:
he’s a bit of a rags to riches story, plucked from his sous chef gig at the River Cafe to do a little show called the Naked Chef
he showed the world how to make authentic chicken nuggets
he’s part Sudanese (according to Wikipedia anyway)
he’s not afraid to go over the top to get his point across
his children are named Poppy Honey, Daisy Boo, Petal Blossom Rainbow and Buddy Bear Maurice
he’s the winner of the 2010 TED prize
he formed a BritPop band when he was 13
he once said”It’s funny, the other day.. honest truth, right.. my wife accused me of having an affair, but actually she wasn’t accusing me of having an affair with another woman, or a man or an animal, she was accusing me of having an affair with my garden.”
he’s published over twenty books and made over a dozen different television shows, all promoting real food
his website features smart, simple, healthy recipes every day
he cried on Oprah – and if he didn’t, then he’ll be the first non-crying guest she’s had this year
