“The ongoing conflict in Syria has triggered the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today. According to the United Nations, 12.2 million people inside Syria need urgent help, including 7.6 million who are internally displaced. It is estimated that well over 250,000 people have died in the conflict, with hundreds of thousands more wounded. More than 4 million Syrians have sought refuge in the neighbouring countries of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey.”- Foreign Affairs, Tradeand Development Canada

What’s On The Table at the Stop Community Food Centre

On Wednesday, November 7, the Wychwood barns at The Stop Community Food Centre will again be host to one of Toronto’s best and most loved food fundraisers.  Since 2005, What’s On The Table (WOTT12) has raised over $1.5 million for The Stop’s anti-poverty and anti-hunger programs. These programs help to maintain dignity, build health within the community and level out social inequalities by offering classes in urban agriculture, sustainable food, cooking and operating and maintaining greenhouses and markets.

If you haven’t attended this event before, or you just want to have a peek at what  last year’s event was like, check this out this article in the Toronto Standard.
