Fall 🌸 ideas.

Well folks, it’s the turning of the season. Autumn is upon us.
Whether you’re grateful for the cooler weather or have already started wearing a parka, it’s time to focus on practical matters like trading spring planters for more frost-tolerant plants.

Following are a few suggestions. If you know all this, please feel free to look down on gardening newbies but please do your best to be helpful 👩🏼‍🌾.

Chrysanthemums are a versatile fall classic.
They come in a variety of sizes and colours from pure white to burgundy red.
On their own, mums are perfect cool-weather flowers that brighten up any fall day. Mixed in a planter with millet and ornamental peppers, they create a harvest-season look.

Asters are another easy fall flower. Pick off the buds as they turn brown to encourage new growth throughout the season.

If you’re looking for something a little different, celosia is an eye-catching addition to any planter with neon-bright, long-lasting blooms. They make excellent cut flowers or they can be dried to use in crafts!
That exclamation mark is supposed to offer encouragement–you got this! Pandemics are perfect for crafting. You’re stuck inside a lot anyway, they keep the hands busy, and learning new things brightens and tires the mind.

Need to fill in some space? Heuchera comes in lime green to dark red, makes a great accent, and can be planted in the garden for next year.

Still need more colour? Try pot :).
Whether you grab a finished pot or plant it yourself, fall planters are an easy way to add colour at the end of the growing season.

Our staff are always happy to answer any questions about what plants will fit your needs–there are no dumb gardening questions. If we didn’t like talking plants and infecting people with our enthusiasm we would’ve picked another line of work.
