Here’s our follow-up to part uno featuring Joe Furfaro’s curated panettone selections for 2024. With 215 panettone to choose from, Mr. Furfaro is here to help guide you to panettone perfection.
The Traditional One: Tre Marie Pandoro Tradizionale — $19.99
This panettone is made by a third-generation Toronto family that operates right in the St. Clair West neighbourhood. AnnaMarie Deleo and her three sons have been serving up sweet goodness since 1960. Mr. Furfaro calls their Pandoro Tradizionale “a solid, well price, traditional panettone option.”
The Vegan One: Vergani Vegan — $34.99
Vergani was the first vegan panettone brand to hit Fiesta’s shelves five years ago. Mr. Furfaro says this vegan panettone from renowned Milanese pastry shop Vergani is “a hot commodity.” So, if you want a taste, you’d better put those plant-powered legs to work.
The Chocolate Lover’s: Chiostro di Saronno Panettone Gianduja — $39.00
Gianduja cream, a blend of chocolate and hazelnut paste born in Turin, is a traditional ingredient in panettone. Joe Furfaro prefers Chiostro di Saronno’s version for your chocolate fix because “they’re a beloved brand that’s been around for 30 years.”
The Newest One: De Vivo Panettone Fai Da Te Novita- $149.99
Mr. Furfaro says “This isn’t just panettone — it’s a whole experience.” De Vivo’s Fai Da Te Novita (that’s DIY for us non-Italians) includes two panettone and six jars of decadent spreads. You also get decorations so you can customize your panettone. It’s a splurge, but it’ll keep guests, and particularly kids, entertained.
We hope you find the panettone you’re after. Buon Natale and happy feasting from Joe Furfaro and the whole team at Fiesta Farms!
